Carolyn Chambers, LIMHP, LADC
Carolyn completed her bachelor's degree with UNO obtaining an endorsement in Sign Language Interpreting and a few years later went back to school to complete her master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and has been a therapist since! Carolyn also is a licensed drug and alcohol counselor. She grew up moving around and experiencing multiple life changes and transitions having moved 26 times by the time she reached the age of 16.
Carolyn has therapeutic experience working with clients of all ages but has a particular interest in working with co-occurring (mental health and substance use) adults. She approaches each client’s case individually based on their needs and preferences. She believes therapy benefits the client best in a genuine, non-judgmental, accepting environment and strives to provide a safe, comfortable space in which her clients can grow. Her approach is client-led, focusing primarily on CBT and DBT informed motivational interviewing and client-centered techniques. She has experience working with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality and mood disorders, substance use and couples therapy. She also enjoys aiding clients in their spiritual growth and can provide a faith-based approach to individuals who would like their beliefs to be incorporated in their healing and growth journeys. Carolyn has experience working with the Deaf community and is familiar with ASL and SEE as well as the cultural aspects of the community.
