Mindy hinton, LIMHP
Mindy Hinton is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP). Mindy has spent the last 20 years working in the mental health field in various capacities, including skill building, in-home crisis intervention, in-home therapy, and in an outpatient clinic. She has been a therapist for 16 years, specializing in the treatment of trauma, domestic violence, abuse, neglect, depression, anxiety, women’s issues, perinatal/post-partum, significant life changes including divorce, blended families, relationship conflict, personality disorders, and other mental health concerns.
Mindy graduated from Doane University in 2006 with a masters in Community Counseling. She graduated in 2001 from York College with her bachelors in psychology and English. Mindy comes with a lot of experience working with trauma survivors. Mindy is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and is currently working on her national certification. Mindy is also trained in TF-CBT (Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) which included co-facilitating at DBT Skills Group, and Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). She utilizes an eclectic approach to treatment. Mindy works with clients of all ages, but prefers to work with adolescents and adults.
Mindy is very passionate about her approach to treatment and believes the client and their voice is an instrumental part of that process. She works hard to develop a strong therapeutic rapport with her clients. Mindy believes in meeting clients where they are, providing a safe and nonjudgmental space to grow.
